Hi Jeff
I know that the presentation by Sports Illustrated looks very impressive but
these types of publication platforms are being developed (as Doug mentioned)
now. VIrtual magazines are already available and  this site is utilizing
state of the art flash, animation and some fancy "photo gallery"
interfaces...nothing new really.

"Multi platform publishing" for computer, mobile, reader and television is
the way to go now-we should all be moving in this direction.

As the publishing industry moves into this presentation mode and it is
adopted by other niche markets, the platform costs will decrease and become
more accessible.

 I'm happy to hear that you have taken notice of this. As garden
 communicators we need to educate ourselves  on the new tools of production,
embrace them and become proficient in using them. I know that Doug is always
in sync with the latest developments too.

I'm excited by new media opportunities for our industry and am busy
developing new platforms that will utilize some of these state of the art
tools!  Even with all the fancy stuff, I believe that books are here to
stay.
