[GWL]: Is garden reading seasonal?
Garden magazine and book publishers generally assume that people are
most likely to read about gardening during the season when they are
actually doing it. However, I do the opposite. During the spring,
summer, and fall, I'm much too busy gardening to read about it. If I
don't know it by then, it's too late for that season. My garden
magazines accumulate unread. For me,it is completely beside the point
that the magazines try to focus on subjects relevant to the month in
which they come out, since I don't read any of the articles until
winter. I may buy gardening books whenever I hear about them or see a
review, but I don't actually read the books until winter. The only
gardening info I'm likely to read during the gardening season is the
gardening section of my local newspapers.
Do most gardeners do their reading about gardening and their gardening
concurrently? Or do most do their gardening and their reading about
gardening in different seasons?
