Code of Ethics

Dear everyone, 
I have been giving some thought to codes of ethics for garden writers as the
result of some work that has been done by another member of this list (Tony
Fawcett) to compile a code of ethics for the Horticultural Media Association
(Australia). As part of my research I searched the sites of GWAA and the
British GWG and was unable to find a code of ethics on either site. I would
love to know if these organizations have a code of ethics, if not why not?
What does everyone think. Should these professional bodies have a code of
ethics and if they should what should it include. I think they should be an
essential part of every professional writers organization and should be
readily available to members and outsiders, and actively promoted within the
organization.
