Re: Re: Now what?

Title: Re: [GWL] Re: Now what?
When a topic starts off with something directly related to garden writing, then drifts to something else, that's one thing, and I've been trying to be lenient in that respect.  However, when topics are posted that either have nothing to do with garden WRITING, or are just frivolous stuff that should have been sent offlist, a flag goes on the play.   We have another list specifically set aside for members of THIS list to discuss gardening.  I'm being a stickler on this because there are a ton of gardening lists out there, but only ONE (that I know of) for Garden WRITING.  It's a unique list and should stay that way.  I set that goal when I started this list and I intend to stay with it.

The question of staying to one topic is a common problem faced by many listserves and chat groups like GWL.  One particular list that I am on covers a wide range of material so to ³code² the information, so subscribers can weed out information they don¹t want, we use subject tags.  I first thought it a pain but have grown accompanied to the fact.  For cultural issues we use CULT, for issues dealing with hybridizing we use HYB, just to name a few.  Are we to that point?
