I don't think there's much you can do. Once you agree to have the product reviewed, you're pretty much at the mercy of whatever the reviewers experience.
What about running an ad on the same page the review appears offering the first 50 respondents who call an 800 #, a free CobraHead? In the ad copy you could mention that it was rated an 8 out of 10 (or whatever data you have from previous reviews) from the National Gardening Association, citing the many uses of the tool, etc., essentially rebutting the 3 reviewers from the paper. That way, you get your message across in a more positive way and spread a little good will along the way.
Like others, I find the tool a real asset for more than weeding and hoeing in tight places, but you already know all that!
