Japanese Beetle Collector
I want to share this with anyone who is into hand picking Japanese beetles.
It's easy, cheap, and I've found it to be way more effective than other
commonly suggested hand picking methods.
All you have to do is place the mouth of the funnel under the beetle(s) and
tap down from above. The beetle's natural defense is to fall. It hits the
slippery slope and - one less beetle. A short daily routine in infested
areas can quickly reduce populations to where they are not destructive. The
beetles are much easier to catch when it's cooler as opposed to warmer.
Like most insects, they move faster when it's hotter.
