Re: Japanese Beetles

I did a segment recently on Fox59-TV about Japanese beetles. Here's a
link to the posting on my blog. Noel and others are on the right
track when they reduce the numbers of the beetles on plants. Japanese
beetles are attracted to each other, so if a bunch of them are
feeding on plants, that will attract more.

I don't think the beetles have been as bad here this year as in other
years. Judy suggests that rain may keep the numbers down, but when I
doing my research, I found that rain does not seem to influence the
numbers. The rain may make it easier for the beetles eggs/grubs to
work their way into the soil in greater numbers, which may mean more
next year.
