One last piece of info re Jap Beetles...

When I started putting together my Low Toxic/Safe Solutions talk a few years ago, I researched this pest in depth and spent lots of time on the US APHIS site.  They have tons of data about the life cycle of JBs and how to control/manage it.  There is an especially rigorous program in place to keep it out of the western agricultural states because of the severe economic impact such an invasion would have, not unlike the med fly.
