"Want a chance to win and Apple Computer, ..."
I just got a little thing in today's mail from the Garden Writers
Association Foundation asking me for money. Perhaps you got one too. It says
on the front of the tri-folded flyer: "Your Support of Gardening Research
Can be Surprisingly Rewarding. . . " I think this is the first time I've
ever gotten something like this. As a paid GWA member, it's a little
puzzling to me. They're offering a chance to win prizes if you donate. Why
would they send these out to paid members? Is our Association hurting that
bad for funding? It seems they could save a substantial amount of money just
by not buying postage for such solicitation to their paid members. That's my
view anyway. What say y'all?
Oh, and one more thing. Why couldn't paid membership count as donations for
such things as what's being given away at the Annual Awards Banquet?
