Re: Grow Bags
Hi Miranda,
I don't think many home gardeners are using the smart pots, or are even aware of them at least in Western PA. I have never seen them available at any local nursery or garden shop. I've had to order them directly from Smart Pots after learning of them at a GWA Symposium.
I use them in my landscape design business. I have tucked the planted pots of perennials and shrubs around the roots of trees. It's a great way to have under-plantings without disturbing or competing with shallow roots.
I've had a Japanese maple growing and thriving in one for about four years now. I also use them as liners in ornamental containers and as planters for water garden plants.
