Within minutes of my having hit the 'send' button yesterday  regarding this 
topic I received the following email from my editor,

Had to slice and dice the hell out of Western version this week. Had  to 
fit 6 pages into 2--most stuff didn't make it at all.  Sorry. 
Oh well, there's always the Eastern version.  It's of  little solace that I 
get paid no matter how much they cut.  I write so my  fellow gardeners can 
read.  That is what they seem to ask for.  Maybe  it is indeed time for a 
blog so at the very least they can get to look at an  unedited, uncut verson.
