I'm in the kitchen freezing garden produce, and have a pile of fresh picked cukes as well. I gave them to my husband and son and asked them how they would describe them to an alien or the average American child who's never eaten a cucumber. Their responses:
1.  "It's like a tasteless green bean." (I'm freezing beans.)
2. "It's similar to watermelon rind, or a watermelon that isn't sweet."
3. "Like the blandest, most watery pickle you've ever eaten."
4. "Tastes kind of like chicken."
