Re: Re RoundUp? and a rant

I use about 90% less than we used to and I never recommend it as a 'first
use' herbicide or treatment but it really depends on the problem (target).
I'm also a wetlands commissioner and have become aware how toxic it can be
to amphibians in certain formulations. Bottom line is that I'm not in a
panic, take the research with a grain of salt but at the same time it should
be used sparingly and thoughtfully. I'm much, much more concerned with
the proliferation and promotion of the use of the insecticide imidacloprid in
retail packaging for use in flower and vegetable gardens. This pesticide
is clearly a threat to honeybees and earthworms. Read the cautionary label
on the retail products and see if you think the directions are ones the
average gardener can or would follow.

I am wondering if there is anyone on this list who uses or recommends
using RoundUp given, as the last straw, the latest study regarding birth
defects?

Not looking for controversy (though ready for it!), just wondering?
