Japanese beetles vs. Pelargonium
At the OFA Short Course this year I saw a poster at someone's booth declaring that researchers have found a compound in zonal geraniums (Pelargonium) that's toxic to J. Beetles. This is something I observed years ago, whenever we had planters around the pool with geraniums and dracena (yeah, I know it's a cliche, spare me the eye-rolling). The beetles that fed on the geraniums died. I told some chemist/pesticide types about it at that time, but never heard more about the subject until now.
I was absurdly busy during the short course and never got back to that booth. Anybody know whose it was?
