P.S. I thought of you last week when I wrote a short piece on the problems with the eastern redcedar this year. A Rutgers extension specialist noted that the problem is wide spread from Ct. down and past Deleware...they have found no pathogen or insect and suspect that it's just accumulated stress and damage from a drought followed by extreme wetness interlaced with two very harsh winters. Also found out from another source that the hemlock wooley adelgid has apparently pretty much disappeared...for much of the same reasons.
