Re: Fw: black widows & copperhead snakes (in great number in NCthis season)

One thing I meant to add to this discussion and kept forgetting to do...well
worth knowing about. They make inexpensive glue traps to be placed in
closets and especially underneath beds. The best ones have sides that fold
up, so that the whole thing is shaped something like a pyrimid with two open
ends. Spiders crawl into it and don't crawl out.
I stick these under the beds and forget about them for six months or so,
then toss them out and replace them with new ones. They are always loaded
with spiders (and a few other assorted small bugs) even if we never see any
spiders in our bedroom.
Five-six years ago my wife got bitten on the back of her hand while she
was sleeping by (what we assume was) a brown recluse spider. The bite looked
like a small pimple, but then soon popped and bled, and then got way, way
worse. For many weeks her hand was a sight, but luckily for her, there was
no permenant damage. many people are less lucky.
I emptied out the entire room, tossed the rug, painted the walls, and then
started using these little glue traps. I totally recommend them. Stick a
couple in the garage, too.
Here's a link to a place that sells a version of these...a dozen for ten
bucks. http://www.cleanertoday.com/Spider-Traps-12pk-p/trap-spider-cm12.htm
