It's surprising who isn't ready to learn, though.  Several years ago, after
visiting several researchers at Oregon State U., I did a multi-part piece on
mycorrhizal fungi (condensed version is on my website now) and started
exploring it and the soil food web. I used the fungi in my garden and had
great results. It made the whole picture of why organic gardening works come
clear.  So much so that I wanted to do an article on it for, of course,
Organic Gardening.  They wouldn't have a thing to do with it.    It
dumbfounded me at the time, but I understand now, because Maria Rodale had
just taken over at the time.
