Re: chain gardening magazines

Title: Re: [GWL] chain gardening magazines
Better Homes and Gardens is open to freelance.  The Special Interest Publications (SIP) section is probably the best section to try as they use lots of material for the various one-time issues that they publish.  A detailed query is a good idea.  They usually have specific sizes of articles they want and a pre-written one might not suit them.

Hi everyone.  I am new to this list serve so please
forgive me if I am asking a question which has
previously been answered.  I did search the archives
but still...  My question is whether anyone has had
any success managing to write for any of the "chain"
gardening magazines.  I am thinking specifically of
Better Homes and Gardens publications and Harris
publications.  When I look at my Chapters gardening
sections the majority of the magazines come from these
two publishers.  Is it open to freelancers?  Do we
send a regular query?  To whom - as each one seems to
have a different editor - ?
