Re: Web Page

Melanie,

I think that you can't afford NOT to have a web page. I use my web page as my link to the world, and through it comes all manner of interesting, useful, and occasionally profitable offers. Once you have a website, the real trick is to figure out how to drive tons of traffic to it. There are a good number of tricks to doing just this.
The other key, not to be ignored, in my humble opinion, is to Google yourself,  Melanie Vassallo  , and see how many "hits" (URL's...websites) you get....just did this, and your name brings up 1,690 hits...better than most, certainly....but you can certainly push that number up too....again, high numbers don't just happen.
This advice would apply to all writers I'd think. The more URLs you're on, the more action will just come to you from the Internet. If your Google numbers get high enough, eventually people searching can't help but to find you.

Subject: [GWL] Web Page

Earlier this evening it became glaringly obvious to me that I need a web page. With little computer experience beyond using the internet it seems that I must hire out to have a web page designed.

Many friends of mine have had their web pages designed by Happy Moose design at http://daylily.net/design/

Bobby's initial fee for a simple webpage is only $50.00. Additional photos and features can be added. Custom designed sites begin at a much higher rate.

Many of you who have web pages use them to sell your product. At this point I'd like to have a page that lists my services, offers a link to send me e-mail and most importantly gives an upcoming lecture schedule.

I'd like to know how you benefit from your web page. Also, do you see any pitfalls with my getting a simple page. At this time I can't see any reason not to get one just so I get my name and images out there.

Thanks for your thoughts,
Melanie Vassallo
