Re: Giving a great lecture
Hello Esther,
I am usually quite good at making myself look incoherent without the
help of others. There are two versions of "blurbs" on store here to give out
as information to be used in publicity. Short and more detailed if someone
is doing a article on the speaker as well as the presentation itself. There
is a short description paragraph of each presentation on the web site for
those who hire me to print off and use. Short, direct. and to the point so
they have no need cut (although they usually manage to do so)
I always provide hand-outs for each individual at my presentations. It
has list of slides in both common and binomial, full contact information,
and a notes sections. Costs a few pennies more for each handout, for that
"extra" sheet, but darn good investment in my book.
My last presentation was listed in the newspaper under the heading of
Gourds and Crafts... neither of which have anything to do with me. Don't
know where the heading came from, but people did manage to find me at the
right time. Description of the talk was correct... just the header.
Sometimes our control of the universe only extends just so far before it
unravels. However, always do your part to the best of your ability.
