Not sure what you mean by 'custom cropping,' but I use Picassa to crop
photos, and it lets me crop to any size I want, while also giving me some
pre-set options like 5 x 7, 8 x 10, etc.

I think Picassa is great if you're just going to take photos, do some very
basic lightening/darkening etc, and crop them and save them.  It's the only
thing I use.
