Re: Good news on an old topic
Interesting, I too, am at the Boise Flower Show, and we seem busy talking about and selling seeds. I will say these folks are more interested in advice about which variety to grow and why than most other groups. It's apparent they want to feed their children well and interest them in eating vegetables while they are young. What I haven't much heard until this weekend is roughly "I've got to change my own eating habits because I'm getting older, I like vegetables and salads but somehow got out of the habit of growing them". This is a short synthesis of what I've heard but the comments are there.
Maybe people in this area are a bit chattier, they want tips, and more tips not just on how to grow, but what varieties do I like best, and how to cook with them. It's pretty interesting. Of course they have nice live music in the evening, a bar and wine tasting turns the garden show into an indoor street fair.
