I emailed a question to them a while ago. Actually I emailed i*@cooksgarden.com but since Burpee bought them from Park last November, it went to them.
I noticed in the Cook's catalog for 2004 that it suggested that custmers visit the Cook's trials in the Intervale in Burlington, VT. Since I used to run those trials and knew they had been shut down in September 2002, I was curious. (I should mention that I visited in 2003 and a parking lot was under construction on the site of the previous trials.)
I innocently asked when the trials might be opening for the 2004 season, and was told that the trials wouldn't be opening this season "due to bad weather." Thinking that kind of humorous, I emailed back, attaching JPGs of the trial grounds in 2002, and again in 2003 from the same spot, with the parking lot half built and the bulldozers and dump trucks right in the middle of what had been the gardens, and noted that I understood the effect it must have on a garden when, rather than just "raining cats and dogs" it starts raining trucks and dozers.
To date, I have not received a reply to that message....
