Re: Just curious
Here on Long Island I've seen Dahlias galore in the nurseries and
wholesalers but not in the box stores. Haven't seen a single Canna yet and
very few Caladiums. "Fascination" seems to be the hot Dahlia, actually any
dahlia with dark/purplish foliage is "in".
The tuberous begonias are available but none of them have "wowed" me this
year which is unusual.
The people I see are snapping up the double rose-like impatiens like crazy.
My mother in law though told me she'll never buy another one as it makes too
much of a mess. Then again she wants to know why I would want to grow more
than one variety of "host-ass" and exactly what is the significance of that
old sewing machine in my garden. (I told her it's because I need it to sow
seeds)
