Re: List etiquette

Coupla questions/suggestions:

-- Does every post really have to have so much stuff dangling at the end that has to be trimmed away? Obviously a lot of us (yeah, I've been guilty) forget to take that extra step. Must it all accompany every post? If there's a highly-technical reason why it must all be there, please spare me the details and just say "Yes, you neanderthal." I'll accept that.
-- The PW post would not have generated so many inappropriate replies to the whole list had it been worded more clearly, e.g., with instructions to reply off-list or with a link to where the replies should have gone. As I recall, it included no such wording. Methinks a careless poster soliciting replies should be chided, not just those who simply hit "reply." (I got that one right, at least.)
