when to plant
I always get a chuckle out of the varied descriptions of "when to plant',
and their wide variations, as well as all the hopeful "now it's time!"
Here in SoCal where we plant something (even if it's the wrong thing)
almost every week out of the year, we don't have the luxury of waiting for that
special time. I've even run onto a gardener setting out tomato plants in
October, and even though I told him was late, he went ahead and even got a
crop of sorts.
We do have rules, but they're flexible, stretchable, and not cast in stone.
