A decent fifty foot tape measure runs about twenty. A string tied with knots
every foot even less.
Maybe it is because I don't have acreage, I have a yard. And along the front
of the main mixed border I have stuck one of those pegs intended for holding
down floating row cover every two feet. Easy to locate plants on my old
school paper plot plan.
