morro bay area gardening book

Hello, All:

I know someone who is moving down to the Morro Bay area (CA) and my  
friend (real estate agent who sold her old house) would like to give  
her a special gift to settle her into her new gardening climate in  
Morro Bay. Is there a book you Californians could recommend for her?  
We're thinking of a book along the lines of "climate appropriate  
gardening," since she's moving there from Portland, OR - a very  
different climate.
