plant selection question

Hello folks,

I was heading into the gym and the person at the reception desk asked me for
some help in selecting plants.
She wants something that repels bees and wasps...and possibly spiders.

Now take back the thought you just had- here's the rest of the story: she
very much wants to garden but is seriously allergic to certain insect
juices/secretions/venom, whatever you want to call it. She has an epi pen
and all the other paraphernalia.

She hasn't gardened in her life, afraid of flowers etc., but was wondering
if there was anything out there.

We're in Canadian hardiness zone 5b, US zone 4b.

I know you're a fantastically knowledgeable and clever lot which is why I'm
asking the lot of you.

What are your ideas?
