RE: [GWL]: [GWL new books in general

A book I'm reading now that is not especially new, but new to me, is
Breeding your Own Vegetables, by Carol Deppe. I'm almost finished with this
book and am finding it fascinating. Much of the material here would apply to
plants other than vegetables, and I think that doing a bit of hybridizing
can't hurt any serious gardener. Anyhow, I think it's terrific and I highly
recommend this interesting and practical book.
Another book I read just recently, is The Holistic Garden, Creating
Spaces for Health and Healing, written beautifully by Karen York, who is the
botanical editor of the Canadian publication, Gardening Life.
The Holistic Garden is a piece of work, full of great photos, top notch
writing, dozens of fresh and highly useful tips. -
Also of great interst to many I think, will be the book just released by
the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Horticultural Therapy. Some 45
writers donated chapters to this book (myself included) and I think much of
it is different and quite valuable. This just showed up in the mail
yesterday.
