Thanks Laurel,
I did find a 1999 Consumer's Report survey on the number of books sold
annually in the US that was broken down into categories.  I think I can
extrapolate from that data to get the number of cookbooks sold annually.  If
anyone else wants to see that survey, go to the American Booksellers Assoc.
web site and click on Research & Statistics.
