Re: GWA website suggestions

Kathy,

HI, I agree that I too have been disappointed about how little the members'
area of the website has to offer. I was looking for the two things you were
looking for when I joined as well as a way to promote my writing and
speaking.
I was also highly interested in the book and magazine e-book. I would love
to see that updated and put into a print form - yearly.
A press badge would be great. I would also like to see more offerings for
free visits to places like the AHS society offers their members.
I really like the listserv and wish there were more topics brought up on
this listserv. I know I am guilty of not asking questions, mentioning
products, etc. The last few times I have I felt there was not really a
response as in the old days. The list definitely needs some action. It is
indeed the most useful aspect of being a garden writer.
I would like to see more local meetings too - maybe lunch or dinner, visits
to local botanical gardens, etc. While I realize this might not include
everyone in each region I think GWA members could use more socialization
among themselves - being a garden writer can be pretty lonely sometimes as I
am sure many of us know. At least my spouse does not get all excited at the
latest plant or product I get!
So, there are my two cents. You did a fantastic job of covering the bases!
Sheri
