Re: garden photos of sample plants

I do write and speak about plants that were sent to me if I like them
and they do well. If they don't do well, I pretty much ignore them in
terms of writing about them. If they are really bad, I might mention
my disappointment, or if asked, express my opinion.
I think if the plants you pick are favorites, they are favorites.
It's not like you are making a lifetime commitment. Plants can be
favorites for the most recent season.
Photography does drive the print stuff I do, whether I shoot what's
in my garden or use the grower's art. Photography is important for
giving talks, too. If I have a photo of a plant that I don't like or
didn't do well, I don't use the image or recommend the plant. Single
plants w/companions or a grouping doesn't matter to me.
