Re: Garden Thugs

I agree about the Aegopodium - I battled it for years when I lived in NY Hudson River Valley, and in fact didn't bring many plants from that garden to the Cape because I was worried that some of the Aegopodium would come with it. I'd gotten the curse of the Bishop's weed in a pass-along plant from a friend. Aegopodium is now illegal to sell in Massachusetts.

I'll add Euphorbia cyparissias 'Fen's Ruby'. Once again, when I moved to Poison Ivy Acres two years ago, I avoided bringing any plants that grew near the bed infested with this Euphorbia.

Subject: [GWL] Garden Thugs

Am working away on our Winter issue. The cover story is Garden Thugs. I'd
like to do a Top 10 (at least as that number may expand as I keep
researching), so I put it to you all --

ASIDE from Ivy, bamboo, and vinca, WHAT PLANT IS IN YOUR GARDEN (or a
client's garden) that you wish you had NEVER planted there due to its
aggressive, spreading , thuggish nature?

Sincerely,
Kathy Jentz
