On the other hand I find that Latin was invaluable when I had a gathering of gardeners from
around the country AND from Tasmania in my garden this summer. We would be speaking plain English
but someone would always have to murmur the Latin names so that everyone understood what we were
talking about. I think it's important that we try to educate people to both ways of naming
plants.
