I am in the process of entering my slides into a database I designed
with FileMaker (a program I purchased after someone on this list
suggested I try a demo).  It seems a monumental task, but I try to do
some each weekend.

Each slide has a unique number and is stored in plastic sheets (20 per
sheet) which I hang in file drawers.  I can search the database by any
field (genus, species, common name, flower color, location, etc) and
locate the slides easily by number.

It sure makes life easier.
