Ruah Donelley self-published her first gardening book (I forget the
title but it's about exceptional retail nurseries in the New Engladn
states).  It won a Q&T award last year.  She's listed in the GWA
directory, and if you're not a member (w/access to the directory),
contact me off list and I'll put you in touch with her.

Also, FYI, Region 1, GWA is giving a symposium on how to write a
successful book proposal on 11/6 in NYC.  Ruah will be one of our
panelists.
