You may be interested to know that not all farmers are happy with the USDA labelling scheme. Small farmers seem unduly burdened with paperwork and filing costs. NPR did something on this topic today (www.npr.org). Part of the small farmer's reaction to this is in a new organic certification program, "Naturally Grown" (www.naturallygrown.org). A press release that I received on this is attached.
