Re: New organic labeling scheme

You may be interested to know that not all farmers are happy with the USDA labelling scheme. Small farmers seem unduly burdened with paperwork and filing costs. NPR did something on this topic today (www.npr.org). Part of the small farmer's reaction to this is in a new organic certification program, "Naturally Grown" (www.naturallygrown.org). A press release that I received on this is attached.

Hi folks,

I understand that, as from today, the USDA has introduced a new labeling scheme for organic produce. I have a couple of press releases from various companies saying how great this is, but can anyone direct me to what the USDA are saying about it? Their site seems curiously quiet about it all.

Thanks,
