RE: Startling statistic
I asked and he confirmed. Only 2% of the pesticides sold to consumers in
this country is organic. That statistic is true for the industry and for
his company on a national basis. In the 50 or so garden centers I have
visited in the past year, it is my observation that something less than 10%
of the products on the shelf are organic. The organic products are there in
the early season, but because they are not big sellers, the garden centers
tend not to reorder them, so that by June it is hard to find Bt or Neem or
Light hort oil.
Sorry to bring the bad news, but I believe the statistic.
Jeff

Not from over on this side of the country. Are you sure he was
talking about residential consumers, not commercial consumers or
agricultural consumers?
