Of course organic "solutions" are a miniscule part
of the pesticide market. This could be good news indeed. As an
organic gardener (in the South) with a large and diverse collection of
plants, I have not used organic pesticides for the past several
years. I can't remember the last time I used any fungus or bug-killing
product. (I do use Sluggo for slugs.) Get your soil in good
shape, raise healthy plants, attract beneficials (at least 98% of the insect
population) and get your garden in balance. That's the gospel we ought to
be preaching.
I suspect organically-inclined gardeners have
discovered what I have found. Given opportunity, nature takes care of
itself. I also suspect that when organic gardeners do need solutions to
garden problems, they are mixing up the potions themselves.
