Re: unusual holiday plants?
One garden center in the Chicagoland area sells rosemary topiaries in pots decorated in red and green foil. The rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is clipped into cone shapes to look like small Christmas trees. I like to give them dressed up with ribbons and floral picks. Rosemary can be hard to grow on as a houseplant, but before it declines, you can dry sprigs and leaves for cooking.
