Re: Laptop recommendations?
We, as in the kids and I, all have Dell laptops right now, not because they
are a great laptop but more from price. Over the past 15 yrs between us we
have gone through most of the brands and with the exception of maybe Acer,
they have all coped with what we throw at them. They do get out of date
very quickly though so we reckon on a 3-4 yr life cycle with them.
Things that I look for - number of USB ports, i/o jacks (kids music),
overall memory, photo card socket. If you use it with a projector, then the
right connection for that is important (my newer one has usb connector).

We are investigating purchase of a laptop to be shared among our editorial
staff, with a budget under $800. Ideally something portable for travel,
fast and with lots of memory, decent battery life, and WindowsOS. Can those
of you who use laptops for garden writing/editing offer advice or comments
on what you are using?
Thanks,
David
