Ha! Our first 'real' computer was an Amiga which sadly came and went  
before the PC takeover. We did have the early keyboard that hooked into the back  
of the black&white tv but I think it was Atari not the C-64 .

I don't know about Costco prices but if you go to Best Buy, they have a  
tendency to try to get you to buy everything else including added insurance, 
an  internet widget, new power chord and a service that 'speeds' up the new  
machine. Buy on a pre school year tax free weekend, and you may live to 
regret  it! Online is a decent way to buy if you know what you want too.
