Gardens Illustrated has not been audited for the latest period, but the figues for July-Dec 2000 are:
UK sale: 20,362
Overseas sale (mainly US): 10,216

All are monthly unless stated. The Garden is the subscription-only Journal of the Royal Horticultural Society. There are a number of other magazines which choose not to be audited. These include three water gardening magazines, The Kitchen Garden, Cottage Gardening and Organic Gardening.

Historically, there has always been a substantial drop between the first and second halves of the year for titles which are primarily sold on the newstand so this general decline from the second half of 2000 to the first half of 2001 (when a rise would be expected) is significant. BBC Gardeners World has the largest proportion of subscription sales (other than The Garden) but this is still, at a guess, only about 30% of the total. Both Homes & Gardens and House & Garden focus promarily on the house and home rather than the garden.

I am posting the latest figures for US magazines separately.
