Slainge is the Gaelic toast, and it's pronounced more like "slan-gieh."
As a committed single malt drinker I certainly appreciate the peaty
flavor of various Scotch whiskies.  Unfortunately, sipping a fine whisky
doesn't usually make me want to get out into the garden, perhaps because
I appreciate it most on a cold autumn night, sitting by the fire.
