Re: [GWL]: Is everyone okay on this list?

When members of the human race carry out atrocities, such as the 
commandeering of commercial airlines and using them as weapons of 
destruction against other humans, it puts into perspective the lack of 
respect many individuals, companies, and nations have exhibited for 
other living creatures and the preservation of the environment.

It seems that all of the wars, police actions, crimes against ethnic 
minorities, and armed insurrections of the last century are to be 
repeated in the 21st century.

That the terrorist acts are performed by men and women in the belief 
their god condones and supports their actions makes the whole process 
even more incomprehensible.

The inconveniences we may experience to secure our nation can't compare 
to the lasting anguish of the families who have lost loved ones and 
those lucky survivors of the terrorist's acts. My heart goes out to the 
rescue workers who, confronted with the destruction and horror of the 
events, will experience nightmares for the rest of their lives.

The tranquility of my garden provides an opportunity to escape 
temporarily from the horror and count the blessings my wife and I enjoy.
