  I agree with everthing you wrote. I think there is another lesson to be learned from all of this: we must enjoy what we have right now. We must take pleasure in our friends, children, spouses, and our gardens, even if none of them is even close to flawless. We must appreciate our own selves too, even though most of us are certainly imperfect  individuals. 
  When I saw a black fireman on the TV on Tuesday, covered with sweat and dust, I felt like giving him a hug. I thought, he's a fellow American and I hope everyone watching this can learn to love all their fellow Americans, no matter what color.
  My resolve for today is to practice what I preach here. I'm going to enjoy every moment of today and be friendly and kind to everyone I meet. With any luck, I can pull it off again tomorrow. One day at a time.
