Doreen,
I have to second Sandie Parrott's preference for Janet Macunovich and her
book Easy Garden Design. It needs to be noted that the original published as
ISBN 0882667912 in 1992 has been given a new title and published under a new
ISBN in January 2000 as
Designing Your Gardens and Landscapes: 12 Simple Steps for Successful
Planning
ISBN 1580173152
Although both are available on Amazon the older title may be listed as out
of publication.
Janet teaches a very comprehensive method for the beginner or novice
gardener to do their own landscape design. What Sandie said is right on.
