Re: media liability insurance? (Linda McIntyre)

Hi List,
I looked into this insurance years ago when a contract I was proposing
to sign contained scary lawyer language about my liability for
anything I wrote. I was told then that potential suers go after the
"deep pockets" which I am not! My contract does require me to assist
with the defense. But I didn't bother purchasing any special
insurance and haven't given it another thought. I am very careful
about pesticide recommendations and always write "as directed by the
label." I suppose another issue might be trees. My approach there is
that if you have concerns about a tree consult a certified arborist.
Don't mess with chain saws, ladders, powerlines etc. etc. Can anyone
else think of other problems that might get a garden writer into
lawsuit country? Giant hogweed as an ornamental?
