Wouldn't it be fun if our readers could vote for their favorite garden
books/radio shows, etc? Online voting is incredibly easy and free or
nearly
free these days. Why not have a "readers choice" option?"
I would have serious problems with this sort of judging as it would be
sooo easy to influence the numbers with viral requests for support.
Support from those who have no clue on the merits of the work itself.
I think of Baseball's All Star voting which is truly a factor of which
city gets out the most on-line votes for players from their city. It
becomes a popularity contest
